Extended $5 Million Guaranteed Through November 8th Including Smaller Buy-in. | IXGAMES
(Press Release) San Jose, Costa Rica – October 14th, 2015 – Americas Cardroom today announced that the remaining Sunday tournaments in its $5 Million Guaranteed promo will now come with a smaller buy-in to make them more accessible to more players. While the tournament guarantee is also being reduced, an additional two tournaments have been added to the schedule. “We’ve heard from many players who have found our $500+$40 Sunday tournament to be a little too expensive, particularly with the re-entry option,” stated Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. “So starting this Sunday, we’re making our $5 Million Guaranteed promotion more accessible to players by slashing the buy-in in half. While the guarantee will also be reduced from $1 Million to $500,000, we’re extending the big Sunday tournament offering through November 8th and delivering on our $5 Million Guaranteed promise.” The new Sunday tournament gets underway this Sunday, October 18th at 5pm ET and features a $500,000 guarantee. The buy-in for the tournament has been reduced from $500+$40 to $250+$20. A full satellite schedule is now available in the poker client, and Jackpot Poker tournaments are also available to help players get into it for as little as $1. The new $500,000 Guarantee replaces the $1 million guarantee scheduled for October 18th and 25th. Added to the schedule are two additional $500,000 guaranteed tournaments on November 1st and 8th. All four tournaments come with $250+$20 buy-ins and follow the same re-entry format. Harris notes that while the guarantee is being slashed, the reduced buy-in means that more players will feel comfortable playing in and re-entering the tournament, which will likely lead to a final prize pool that eclipses the guarantee. Commented Harris, “The $500,000 Guarantee is the biggest Sunday online poker tournament available to US players. If successful, it could very well find its way onto the permanent schedule after November 8th.” The response on social media has been mixed, though many players understand that the move is the right one. Commented one player (spelling unchanged): “Smart move by acr changing it to 500k. obv they hoped to hit the mark each time but seemed to come up short, they cant keep taking 200k 140k hits and still pay everyone out so like a responsible site they obv decided it was in the best interest to reduce it to 500k, still largest major in US. so instead of complaining you should applaud. GL all.” Players who were already registered for the October 18th Million Dollar Sunday have been deregistered and are invited to buy back into the new tournament. More information on the promotion, including available satellites, can be found at AmericasCardroom.eu.
