Saturday, July 14, an excited crowd turned out at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey for Bodog Fight: Eddie Alvarez vs. Matt Lee. For their first stop on American soil, Bodog Fight matchmakers assembled an event filled with fast-rising stars and experienced veterans. With ten fights on the card, mixed martial arts fans were guaranteed an exhilarating show. The night was full of exciting submissions and knockouts, as fighters put their best fists forward to impress the local fans. 
In the undercard, David Love (16-7-1) defeated Jeet Kune Do fighter Eben Oroz (4-2-0) by split decision. Mark Burch (9-2-1) settled some unfinished business with Yoshiki Takahashi (28-22-3), knocking out the Pancrase fighter in the first round. Chael Sonnen (17-8-1) destroyed Amar Suloev (23-7-0) with takedowns and ground and pound, as did Branden Lee Hinkle (13-9-0) against Roman Zentsov (16-11-0). In the first of two title matches, Trevor Prangley (16-4-0) won the Bodog Fight middleweight title by defeating Yuki Kondo (49-20-6). Prangley controlled the first two rounds with takedowns and punching, avoiding many submissions by the slick fighter from Japan. After the second round, doctors declared Kondo unable to continue due to a cut. Tara LaRosa (11-1-0) earned the Bodog Fight Women’s 135lb title by defeating a very tough Kelly Kobald (16-1-1) in a back-and-forth battle that was easily the best fight of the night. Kobald fought her way out of several bad positions before finally succumbing to an arm-bar in the fourth round. Afterwards, both fighters congratulated each other on a hard-fought war. For the main event, a surprisingly game Matt Lee (9-6-1) took on fan favorite and former Bodog Fight welterweight champion Eddie Alvarez (11-1-0). Alvarez was the huge favorite coming into the ring, but Lee hung in with the tough Philadelphia fighter. In the end, however, it was a unanimous decision for the Fight Factory prodigy, who got back on the winning track and – maybe – the road to the title once more.
