eCOGRA monitor casinos more closely – A new team has been established to monitor online gambling in the UK. | IXGAMES
eCOGRA continue their efforts in ensuring the online gambling industry is as safe as possible by creating a dedicated team to monitor the 91 online casinos and 21 poker rooms accredited with their ‘Play It Safe’ seal. The team will be responsible for on-site assessments, ensuring that their standards and regulations are completely adhered to by online casinos, giving gamblers the peace of mind they are playing at trustworthy casinos. The team will comprise of four members, all of whom has experience in the audit and gambling industry, and will take over the role previously outsourced to third party auditing firms. eCOGRAs independent directors will continue with their task of overseeing approval of accreditation and compliance issues, and administering the assessment process. eCOGRAs chief executive Andrew Beveridge explained the thinking behind their new development and the benefits the new team will bring to eCOGRA and the industry as a whole. “Although the auditors have provided us with an outstanding service in the past, we now have the necessary skills, reputation and player recognition to undertake this work ourselves, giving it our closer and more immediate attention. This is in line with the way other independent standards organisations and regulators operate. These dedicated resources will allow us greater flexibility to meet the continually varying demands of our industry and to respond to the players’ demands for a safe and rewarding online gambling experience.” The improved structure of eCOGRA further emphasises their desire to ensure the continuous and rigorous monitoring of the online gambling industry.
