Expect Bigger Prize Pools In The Next Online Super Series | IXGAMES
(Press Release) San Jose, Costa Rica – November 30, 2015 – With 23 events now in the bag, the Online Super Series V (OSS V) is proving to be one of the most successful tournament series yet. With 20 of the 23 events seeing bigger than expected prize pools, online poker players across the United States and around the world are gearing up to make the $2.6 million online tournament series the biggest one in Americas Cardroom’s history. “The OSS V is off to an incredible start and we’re really excited about the next seven days,” stated Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. “We already witnessed a spectacular finish to Sunday’s $500,000 Guarantee, but there’s so much more to come, including a $1 million Guarantee this Sunday, December 6th. We can’t wait to see how things unfold at the tables.” The OSS V kicked off on November 27th and features $2.6 million in guaranteed prize money, spread out over daily tournaments with big prize pools and buy-ins as low as just 27 cents. On Sunday night, OSS Event #18 featured a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000. The big Sunday tournament concluded with a final table deal negotiated between RunTheKarma ($72,038), Rampage22 ($60,122), and x0JustingBieberx0 ($50,240). The three online poker players played it out, with an additional $10,000 earmarked for the eventual winner, which turned out to be Rampage22. With 1,613 entries feeding $403,250 into the prize pool, the tournament ultimately saw an overlay of $96,750. However, most OSS V tournaments so far featured final prize pools that eclipsed the original guarantees, including: Event #1, whose $10k guarantee ballooned to $15,850; Event #12, whose $15k guarantee moved up to $21,600; and Event #16, whose $50k guarantee jumped to nearly $66,000. The 10-day series continues with a full week of big tournaments for bankrolls of all sizes. Available tournament formats in this year’s Online Super Series include freeze-outs, re-entries, re-buys, and add-ons. The OSS V resumes today (November 30th) with $37,000 in guaranteed prize money on the schedule. The series concludes on Sunday, December 6th with a $1,000,000 guaranteed tournament where $200,000 is earmarked for first place. Satellites for the OSS V are now live at Americas Cardroom.
