No Williams or Lopez for Sagging Nets in Toronto | IXGAMES
The Brooklyn Nets have gotten off to a lousy start this season at 3-10 SU and 4-9 ATS, and they’ll be short-handed yet again when they head north of the border to face the Toronto Raptors (6-7 SU, 7-6 ATS) on Tuesday. Point guard Deron Williams and center Brook Lopez both have sprained ankles and will not travel to Canada with the rest of the team. It gets worse for Brooklyn. Forward Andrei Kirilenko (back) and guard Jason Terry (knee) both missed Monday’s practice and are unlikely to play Tuesday. The news is better for point guard Shaun Livingston (head), who is listed as probable to face the Raptors despite not practicing on Monday. With all these injuries, plus a crew of aging veterans and a rookie head coach in Jason Kidd, the Nets have lost eight of their last nine games at 2-7 ATS, and have become near-automatic fade candidates at the NBA betting window. Toronto, meanwhile, is on top of the woeful Atlantic Division, going 4-4 SU and 6-2 ATS in its last eight. The Raptors are favored by four points in this match that will tip-off on Tuesday at 7 PM ET.
