World Series Champs Collide in NLCS Rumble | IXGAMES
The San Francisco Giants showed signs of life in their National League Championship Series on Monday, now they’ll look to rally on the road against a St. Louis Cardinals team that’s quite frankly capable of anything. MLB odds favor the 2011 World Series champion Cardinals in the best-of-seven, but after the Giants forced a 1-1 tie in Game 2, anything can happen. Although St. Louis has won over MLB oddsmakers with back-to-back years of October success, the Giants, too, know what it’s like to come up big on the World Series futures. Let’s not forget that it was San Francisco who won the championship back in 2010. With Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum scheduled to take the mound as the club operates out of the visiting locker room in St. Louis this week, Giants fans can breathe relatively easy. Although Lincecum hasn’t exactly had the Cy Young caliber season he’s come to have been associated with, there are few pitching tandems more imposing than this one. According to Bovada the Giants have 3/1 odds of winning the World Series largely thanks to their pitching staff depth. That mark, of course, trails St. Louis’ 5/2, but the betting line is hard to predict. If San Francisco can pick up where they left off their last time out and stop the Cardinals before they can stage another one of their trademark comebacks, this series is far from decided. The best-of-seven will shift back to San Francisco in the event of a Game 6. Get your MLB futures at Bovada’s online sportsbook
