Americas Cardroom Unleashes Revamped 2-Week Beast Promotion | IXGAMES
(Press Release) San Jose, Costa Rica – October 1st, 2013 – Forget poker point races. Americas Cardroom has unleashed an all-out points war. The US-friendly online poker site has officially taken the wraps off a brand new Beast competition. Beginning today, the new progressive points competition will be a 2-week contest. The former monthly race will now reset on the 16th and final day of the month rewarding players twice every month. “Competition for the Beast has been hot, but we’ve decided to revamp the whole experience to give more players a chance to profit way more often,” said Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. “We look forward to awarding more money and more tournament seats on a regular basis.” The new Beast races will occur from the 1st of the month and run through the 15th, and from the 16th through to the last day of the month. The shortened competition means online poker players will have more chances to climb higher on the progressive points race leaderboard and more opportunities for any player to win each race. “A few days of serious grinding can represent a huge number of points in the bi-weekly competition, where as in the previous monthly structure a player would only make it to the top by earning consistent points through out the entire month. The races are now anyones to take”, said Harris. Cash payments for the top leaderboard players will now take place on the 5th and 20th of every month. The new twice-monthly format beginning on October 1st also means that players will now have the opportunity to participate in two large-scale Beast Tournaments every month. Americas Cardroom is famous for its Beast tournaments, in which players can win a spot in by ranking on the Beast leaderboard. The new format means that Americas Cardroom will host tournaments on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. Players compete on two leaderboards simultaneously—a cash leaderboard and a tournament leaderboard. The cash leaderboard pays out as much as $20,000 to the top player, and the tournament leaderboard pays out seats in major online tournaments that awards big prizes like seats in 6-figure guarantees or packages for the Punta Cana Poker Classic land-based tournament. Anyone who sits down at a cash table marked Jackpot automatically becomes part of The Beast competition by earning points through participation in a raked hand. While more points are earned at higher stake levels, everyone participating in the same raked hand earns the same number of points—regardless of how much rake they contributed to the pot.
