The Asian Poker Classic Announces $1 Million Prize Pool

The Asian Poker Classic at the Intercontinental Grand Resort in Goa was already set to be the richest tournament in Asia, but with an added $250,000 in the pot, the action is looking considerably better. This brings the prize pool to a minimum of $1 million–on par with the European Poker Tour. Not bad, considering that this is the inaugural APC, and the EPT has been going for three years. In an official statement, tournament Director Thomas Kremser said, The Asian Poker Classic is not just one of the biggest events scheduled for in 2007 – its one of the biggest poker events anywhere in the world.” More than 200 poker players are expected to take part in the ground-breaking event, which will boast a $1 million prize pool. As well as a host of leading players, a number of Bollywood celebrities are expected to attend, led by MaharajahClub amabassador, Gulshan Grover. The Asian Poker Classic take place March 1-5, 2007.
