Bodog Bracket Buster Champion has been named
Bodogs Bracket Buster Winner Announced!
Congrats are in order for Timothy Baldwin of Columbus, Ohio for winning the 2007 Bodog Bracket Buster contest! Baldwin secured the $10,000 prize after Florida defeated Ohio State 84-75 in the championship game. Baldwin, 36, was something of a March Madness savant, dominating office pools along with the Bracket Buster contest that – amazingly enough – he forgot he had entered. “I didnt believe it at first. When – Bodog – called me, I had forgotten that I had joined the Bracket Buster because I was doing so well in two local tournaments – a couple of office pools – and those added up to 800 dollars,” Baldwin explained. “I was excited about those two. I kinda forgot about it, so I was extremely surprised when they called. I couldnt believe it.” Baldwins strategy for the Bracket Buster was to narrow the field down to a number of possible champions, and take it from there. “My gameplan was that only six teams could win it all, and they all happened to be one- and two-seeds, so I just tried to bet with my mind, not with my heart because Im a big Ohio State basketball fan,” he said. “But I had Florida beating them in the final, so that was sort of a bittersweet victory. But I just thought Florida was too strong, and nobody was going to beat them.” The six Baldwin tagged as potential champs? Florida, Kansas, Ohio State, North Carolina, Georgetown and UCLA, all teams that advanced to the Elite 8. His accuracy in the NCAA Championship final wasnt too bad either, as Florida captured its second consecutive title. Now that the College season has finished, throw down on the Pros!
