US Congressmen suggests online poker should be allowed
A skill game protection act has been introduced by Florida congressman Robert Wexler. The move is an attempt to redress the balance following the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act -Â that has caused uproar across the globe since it was passed last October. Wexler is one of four US congressmen to have passed separate legislation to remove certain aspects of the prohibition caused by the UIGEA. Wexlers Skill Game Proposal Act suggests that American citizens should be able to play poker online in addition to other exemptions from the bill which include horse racing and lotteries. The Skill Game Proposal Act aims to give American citizens more control and choice with regards to their leisure and spending. The UIGEA is one of the most restrictive acts to have been passed in America in the last decade. A *carve out* approach is being used as it is seen as more achievable.
