Online Gambling on the Rise in the UK

The regulatory body for casinos, bingo, slot machines and lotteries in Great Britain, the Gambling Commission, has announced that the numbers of people going online to place a bet in the UK is on the rise. The Gambling Commission made the announcement upon releasing the findings of its latest survey carried out in June. This examination found that 8.6 percent of UK adults had taken part in at least one form of online gambling during the previous month, up from 7.4 percent last year. Placing a bet through a mobile telephone is also on the rise with almost three per cent of adults stating that they had used their handset as a gambling tool at least once in the month before the survey. British gambling operators continue to enjoy a high reputation for integrity in this country and overseas. The Gambling Commission said online gamblers are most likely to be males between the ages of 18 and 34.
