After a strong run in the 2001 NBA Playoffs, the Milwaukee Bucks have been on a downward slope.  The last time the team made the playoffs was in the 2005-2006 season, and they were eliminated in the first round.  In the last few years, however, the franchise has been making some changes to try and bring the Bucks back into winning form.  One of the best things that has happened to them is the drafting of Brandon Jennings.  Keep reading for a recap of the Bucks’ last game against the New Jersey Nets and a quick look at how much Brandon Jennings has helped to turn things around for the Bucks in the 2009-2010 season. Recap of the New Jersey Nets vs. the Milwaukee Bucks When the Nets visited the Bucks at Bradley Center, they were in desperate need of a win.  The Nets had a record of 0-11 and they were facing the 5-3 Bucks.  In the first quarter, the Bucks took an early lead at 20-19.  In the second quarter, however, the Nets made a run to take a 7-point lead going into the half.  Coming out of the locker rooms at halftime, the score was at 48-41 in favor of the Nets, but Milwaukee did show their poise, scoring 28 points and holding the Nets to only 12 to build up a 69-60 lead in favor of the Bucks at the end of the third quarter.  Jennings and the Bucks put the game away, outscoring the Nets by 5 in the fourth quarter for a final score of 99-85.  For the New Jersey Nets, the loss would put them at 0-12 for the season, which is the worst season start in franchise history. Brandon Jennings making waves in his rookie years Brandon Jennings was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1st Round of the 2009 NBA Draft.  As the tenth overall pick, Milwaukee and the rest of the league knew that Jennings had skills, but it was expected that he would need a little time to adjust to the league, just like every other rookie.  Jennings, however, had something else in mind.  Instead of taking his time to get a feel for the game, he came out of the gates and stunned the league.  The 20-year-old, 6′ 1″ point guard has played eight games with the Milwaukee Bucks and he is currently averaging 25.5 points, 5.5 assists, 1.13 steals, 4.8 rebounds, 0.478 field goal percentage, and a red hot .538 3-point field goal percentage.  On top of that, Jennings scored a career high 55-points in the seventh game of his young NBA career.  Although it is still early in his career, the numbers don’t lie and if Jennings’ current numbers are any indication of what his NBA career is going to be like, then this young man is definitely going to have a bright future.
