A Look at the Undefeated Teams So Far in the 2009 NFL Season | IXGAMES

We are now just past halfway through the 2009-2010 NFL season. Now is a better time than ever to get caught up with the leaders of the pack.  Out of the 32 teams in the NFL, there are two stand-out performers this season and these are the New Orleans Saints in the Southern Division of the National Football Conference and the Indianapolis Colts in the Southern Division of the American Football Conference.  Both teams have perfect records and if the other teams in their respective conferences fail to improve on their records, then these two titans may end up having a face-off in Miami, Florida for Super Bowl XLIV.  Let’s take a look at both of these teams and the other teams that have a strong chance of getting to the Super Bowl. The New Orleans Saints During the preseason, the New Orleans Saints lost one out of their four preseason games, but the team has been undefeated so far in the regular season.  So far in the regular season, the Saints have bowled over their opponents, winning a majority of their games by over 10 points.  The only teams that have stood a chance to beat the Saints so far are the Atlanta Falcons who scored 27 against the Saints’ 35 and the St. Louis Rams who scored 23 against the Saints’ 28 just recently.  The Saints only have seven games lined up in the coming weeks, and the teams they will be going up against in their upcoming schedule are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New England Patriots, the Washington Redskins, the Atlanta Falcons, the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay again, then the Carolina Jaguars for the last game in the regular season. The Indianapolis Colts During the preseason, the Indianapolis Colts struggled against their competition, only winning one out of the four games they played.  In the regular season, however, the Colts pulled together to show what their team is really made of.  Although the team has not been as dominant in the AFC as the New Orleans Saints have been in the NFC, the Colts is still able to keep a perfect record so far in the season.  Most of the games that the Colts have played have been close ones, winning by a margin of one touchdown or less.  But, as they say, “a win is a win.”  The biggest wins that the Colts have recorded so far were the ones against the St. Louis Rams where they won 42-6 and against the Tennessee Titans where they won 31-9.  In the Colts’ last seven games for the regular season, they will be facing the Baltimore Ravens, the Houston Texans,  the Tennessee Titans, the Denver Broncos, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New York Jets, and the Buffalo Bills. Stay tuned to the NFL to see how these teams fair in the last stretch of the regular season.
