Bermuda Possible To Casino Gambling | IXGAMES
The government of Bermuda is looking into the possibility of introducing casino gambling. Premier Dr Ewart Brown has announced a joint venture between his administration and the Bermuda Hotel Association (BHA) to conduct a US$300,000 feasibility study on gaming in the island. Depending on the outcome of the research, which will be done by the Innovation Group, a national lottery could also be established. *We have listened to the developers who are investing heavily into Bermuda by building new hotels and, likewise, to those existing hoteliers who are attempting to refresh and renew their hotel product. There is broad support for some form of gaming in Bermuda from their perspective but that is not enough to cause the government to implement it,* Dr Ewart Brown said. Premier Brown said that the Innovation Group, an international provider of consulting services in gaming, leisure and hospitality industries, will conduct a market assessment to determine the gaming revenue potential for Bermuda, examine the legislative controls required for gaming, and also look at the possible direct and indirect impact on society and the economy. 
*I am well aware of the strong feelings about gaming that are prevalent in the community. The aim of this feasibility study is to openly and fully address all aspects of this issue so that we make decisions based on facts,* Premier Brown said. He added that he expected a public consultation on the issue and that the various positions on the issue of gaming in Bermuda would form a key part of the ultimate report done by the Innovation Group.
