Donald Trump wins the brand recognition contest compared to other gambling tycoons interested in building a casino resort in Massachusetts. But when it comes to cash to invest, Trump faces a challenge. His company, Trump Entertainment, is restricted from putting more than $50 million in equity into any deal outside of its home state of New Jersey. The restriction stems from Trump Entertainments financing agreements. The company, which is now trying to expand beyond its Atlantic City base, emerged from bankruptcy in 2005. The cap was meant to ensure that Trump Entertainment did not lose its focus on its three Atlantic City properties – which, like other casinos in the city, are facing new competition from Pennsylvania.
