Great Players Who Didn't Make the Cut for NBA Draft 2010 | IXGAMES

This year’s NBA season just ended with the Los Angeles Lakers winning their second championship. The LA Lakers also won last year’s season and are aiming for a “three-peat.”  Their last win was way back in 2002 where they garnered an outstanding “three-peat” for the years 2000, 2001, and 2002. If you are a fan, then you have probably watched every single game in the season, held your breath at every three-point shot and jumped out of your seat during the fast breaks. The season’s hoop action may be over but that does not mean you should not stay tuned to NBA news. Draft season is coming up and it will be great to pay attention to sports experts’ views on the top picks for next season. Although news are all over those who got picked first, there are also great players were not picked up during the drafting season. Here are a few of the great players that were not chosen first-hand. 1. Art Parakhouski is a 6’11” center from Belarus. He has reliable knowledge of basketball basics, and his size would definitely be a plus in professional basketball. However, this center was off the draft board, possibly because of the low-key school setting he is in. Hopefully, a good team will be able to pick him up and see his real potentials. 2. Samardo Samuels is a power forward who plays in Louisville. He was once considered a top pick for next season. His lack of height and range created doubts as to his performance in professional play. 3. Charles Garcia plays the power forward position in Seattle. He saw action in the mock drafts during the college season but was not able to cross the threshold into the real deal. Perhaps some are doubtful if Garcia can handle power forwards in the NBA. 4. Sherron Collins is a point guard from Kansas. Originally a football player, Collins lack the height and conditioning for professional basketball. Though not chosen as part of NBA drafts, Collins received a summer league invite from Charlotte. Collins should take this opportunity to make an impressive play to convince teams of his real knack for basketball. 5. Mikhail Torrance is a 6’5” point guard who played in Alabama. His athletic skills showed great promise for the professional basketball league. However, Torrance’s minor heart condition spelled bad omens for teams. 6. Matt Bouldin is a combo guard from Gonzaga. Bouldin is a versatile player. His agent confirmed that he is bound to join the Bull’s summer league team with a free agent contract. With the limited available slots in today’s professional teams, there are bound to be good players who do not make the cut. However, agents and representatives think that not getting chosen has its good points as well. This way, the player gets to choose which team he wants to join. Ultimately, being chosen first does not mean anything if you cannot perform on the court when your day comes. It does boost your ego though, being wanted and being chosen over the rest. Let us see if what they say is true by watching out for these undrafted picks over the seasons. They might get picked up by a team or they might choose to play for a preferred team next season.
