Grizzlies Host Spurs in Southwest Showdown | IXGAMES
The top two teams in the Southwest Division lock horns Thursday night (9:30 PM ET, TNT) when the San Antonio Spurs visit the Memphis Grizzlies. The Spurs were in first place at 14-4 (11-7 ATS) going into Wednesday’s action, while the Grizzlies have shaken off a slow start to move into second at 11-8 (9-10 ATS). Memphis will have the advantage of an extra day’s rest after coming from behind to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 113-104 on Tuesday. That’s eight wins in the last 10 games for the Grizz at 6-4 ATS, all since acquiring back-up point guard Mario Chalmers from the Miami Heat. The Spurs will be playing less than 24 hours after hosting the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. They’re 10-2 SU and 7-5 ATS in their last dozen games; on November 21, San Antonio beat Memphis 92-82 as an 8-point home chalk, even though LaMarcus Aldridge sat out with a sprained ankle. Aldridge is back and healthy for the Spurs, but the Grizzlies are still waiting for Brandan Wright (knee) to come off the injured list – Wright hasn’t played since November 9, and there’s no timetable for his return.
