The $150,000 Louisiana Champions Day Classic takes place Saturday, Dec. 12th at Fair Grounds Race Course. Set to make a return visit to the Louisiana-bred all-day event are thoroughbreds Break Up, Star Production and Star Guitar. There are only six horses scheduled to take to the starting gate for the Classic, but Star Guitar will be gunning for his third straight Louisiana Champions Day win. “The older he gets, the better and stronger he’s getting,” trainer Al Stall Jr. said of the Louisiana-bred 4-year-old who won the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile in 2007 and the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Sprint in 2008.
