Magic Pushes for Game 5 after Winning against the Celtics at 96-92

The game is not yet over for the Orlando Magic as they pushed for Game 5, after falling three times against the Boston Celtics in the first three games of the Eastern Conference finals.  It seems like the Orlando Magic won’t easily hand over the win to the Boston Celtics who will have to work harder to clinch their second NBA title in three years. Pushing for Game 5 The Orlando Magic has high spirits in this game, pulling a win of 96-92 in an overtime.  Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson led the team to their much-awaited victory in the playoffs.  They are obviously hungry for a win.  But even though Dwight Howard was on fire during the game, scoring double digits with 32 points and 16 rebounds, he said that it’s not just about making points.  It’s about leading the team.  He said that they don’t want to go home too early and simply let their opponents bask in glory.  Dwight said that, together with Nelson, they led the team by example as they played harder in a must-win game.  Jameer Nelson is one of the heroes of the game after making 3-pointers, one after the other. Down at 3-0, Game 4 was a make or break match for the Orlando Magic.  But even if they win Game 4, nobody can tell for sure if they are off to win the Eastern Conference finals.  So far, no NBA team was able to recover from a 3-0 deficit to win the series.  According to Stan Van Gundy, Orlando Magic coach, the only thing they can do is win Game 4 and see what happens from there. Head-to-head in Game 4 Even if the Orlando Magic won Game 4, the Boston Celtics did give them a tough match.  Paul Pierce was able to score 32 points and also made 11 rebounds.  As for Kevin Garnett, he made 14 points and had 12 boards.  During the overtime, Ray Allen made several 3-pointers like Magic’s Jameer Nelson.  Unfortunately, during the last few minutes, Pierce missed two tries, leading to their loss at 96-92 and 3-1 in the playoff series.  When asked about the results of Game 4, Celtics forward Glen Davis said that they will have to throw them (Orlando Magic) out if they don’t have to leave too early in the series. The Orlando Magic was able to lead by 10 in the second quarter.  At 2:24 left on the clock, they were leading with a score of 85-78.  The Boston Celtics then made a run to cut the lead, leading to an overtime with a tie at 86. For the first 2:18, both teams had a hard time hitting the scoreboard.  It was Nelson who fired a 3-pointer and hit another one less than a minute later. Allen also shot 3-pointers in the period until the score hit 94 to 92 in favor of the Magic. Howard made sure that they’ll have a 4-point lead after making up for Nelson’s miss.  Though trying to close the gap, Pierce failed with his 3-pointers in the last few seconds of the overtime.  Allen admitted that the team failed to take full advantage of some plays.  Though they are still in a better position, they have to be extra careful if they want to make it to the NBA Finals. For Game 5, the Orlando Magic will host the game.
