Nashville Predators and Their 6th Straight Win | IXGAMES
The Predators are really getting their name’s worth as they are now playing the best hockey in the league and demolishing their prey. Nashville is now seventh in the Western Conference with 22 GP and 27 points. This had all been done with the help of right wing man Martin Erat from Czechoslovakia. The Predators have won 10 of 12 overall finishing a five-game home stand. Erat said that their power play’s better, and with 5-on-5, their opponents just can’t score against them. Predators vs. Red Wings The Predators are just unstoppable as they beat the best team in the West in San Jose and New Jersey in the East. They also finished the Red Wings in regulation, the first time in three games. The Nashville Predators are just confident right now that they are blowing everyone out of their way. It all started with the return of J.P. Dumont, Steve Sullivan, and Jason Arnott who scored a goal in the game against the Red Wings. Arnott scored a power play for Nashville in the second period. The three stars, Arnott, Erat, and Rinne who helped saved the game by making 16 of his 30 saves in the third period, aim to preserve the win. Rinne’s effort help saved the game for the Predators as the Red Wings were all over them in the period. The Red Wings had this game as their first without defense man Niklas Kronwall who injured his left knee and will be out for at least a month. This could be the reason Nashville dominated the puck in the Detroit zone, outshooting them by 21-15 in the first two periods. Drew Miller was the only one who scored for the Red Wings. The game was a match as Nashville and Detroit are the least penalized teams in the league with Nashville only having two in the game. Coach Barry Trotz was very proud of his team with the discipline they showed. The big difference in the game was that the Predators converted their power plays and Detroit wasted theirs. Nashville had just seven power-play goals through their first 17 games, but they had eight in their five-game homestand, which ended with their game against Detroit. Arnott who scored in three straight games, made his fourth straight at 10:24 of the first period. Erat made it 2-0 at 1:41 of the second with the assist from Joel Ward. Miller scored for Detroit and put them on the score board at 6:38 of the second period. From the slot at 17:40, Erat then gave the lead a good boost with his fourth goal on a wrister and helped seal the victory. Rinne held up the comeback by making the saves, which included a puck off the post with only 40 seconds remaining on the clock. Nashville now improves to 11-0-0 when scoring with the man advantage and 9-1-0 when scoring first.
