NBA Betting Odds for Utah Jazz and New York Knicks | IXGAMES
Madison Square Garden has long been an icon in the National Basketball League and in sports and entertainment as a whole. Ever since the first Madison Square Garden was built in the 1800s and up to the Madison Square Garden of today, these stadiums have become known around the world for hosting some of the most popular sporting events, concerts, conventions, and other operations. In the basketball world, Madison Square Garden has been regarded with respect and a certain mystique. Today, MSG is also known as “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” and it still has that same imposing and seemingly mystical effect on competitors who come to visit. Before the Utah Jazz came to visit the New York Knicks just recently, the Jazz hadn’t won a game at the Madison Square Garden in five years. Finally, after a five-year draught, the Jazz were able to come away (barely) with their first win at MSG since 2004. Recap of the Jazz visiting the Knicks Before the recent game in New York, the Utah Jazz had a record of 2-4, while the Knicks went into the game with a record of 1-6. With both teams obviously struggling in this early part of the season, both teams were desperate to get the win, but the Jazz also had to prove that they could finally beat the Knicks on their home court. The game started off well for the Jazz, as they outscored the Knicks 25-16 in the first quarter. Going into the half, the Jazz held a good lead after continuing their route of the Knicks, and the score stood at 48-31 in favor of the Jazz. In the second half, however, the Knicks would start to pick up the pace and they outscored the Jazz in the third quarter at 33-30. Entering into the fourth quarter, the Jazz still had a good lead with the score at 78-64. In the fourth quarter, the Knicks would give the Jazz a run for their money, scoring 29 points and holding the Jazz to only 17. Although it was a valiant effort by the Knicks, they were unable to overcome the Jazz and the Jazz won the game with a final score of 95-93. Even if it was the first Madison Square Garden win for the Jazz in five years, it was still a disappointing win – but a win nonetheless. Sports betting odds of winning the championship game Because of Utah Jazz’ latest win, the odds of them winning the 2009-2010 NBA championship is 26/1. As for the New York Knicks, they have a 100/1 chances of winning the championship title for the current NBA season. But of course, these sports betting odds can still change, especially since both teams will exert all their efforts just to get a championship run. Top performers of the game For the Jazz, Andrei Kirilenko or “AK47” was the top performer, while Wilson Chandler led the way for the Knicks. Kirilenko scored 23 points, pulling down 6 rebounds, dishing 6 assists, and getting 1 block for the game. Chandler had a double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists. Carlos Boozer of the Jazz also played well, tying Kirilenko for a game-high 23 points, while getting 14 rebounds and one steal. The Knicks got good help from Toney Douglas who scored 21 points, and Larry Hughes who had 12 points, 5 rebounds, five blocks four steals, and two blocks.
