NFL: The New Orleans Saints Beat the Atlanta Falcons | IXGAMES
Ever since the New Orleans Saints franchise was established in 1967, the team hasn’t had much luck in the NFL. In over 40 years of NFL history, the franchise has yet to win an NFL Super Bowl Championship Title or a Conference Championship Title. The team has made a total of 6 Playoff appearances and has won a total of three Division Championships. This season, however, the Saints are on a tier. The Saints played their seventh game of the season against the Atlanta Falcons on November 2 and, after a bad start, the Saints were able to pull off the win. Read on for a brief recap of the Falcons and Saints game. Quick recap of the game The Monday night game had the Atlanta Falcons visiting the New Orleans Saints at the Louisiana Superdome, where the Saints gave their fans something to cheer about. The Saints got off to a bad start, only scoring one touchdown and allowing the Falcons to take an early 14-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. It was in the second quarter that the Saints would show their indomitable spirit, though. The Saints scored a total of 21 points in the second quarter alone, while their impressive defense stopped the Falcons from scoring. Going into the third quarter, the score was 28-14 in favor of the Saints, but the Falcons tried valiantly to make a comeback. The Falcons scored the only touchdown in the third quarter, bringing the score to 28-21, with the Falcons still trailing. In the fourth quarter, the Falcons were outscored by the Saints 7-6, ending the game with a total score of 35 for the Saints and 27 for the Falcons. What the win means for the New Orleans Saints franchise Before the game between the Saints and Falcons started, the Saints were one of three NFL teams that remained undefeated with a record of 6-0-0. The other two teams who were still undefeated last week were the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos. After winning against the Falcons, the Saints improved their record to 7-0-0, which ties their franchise records for the best start in a season. The Broncos logged their first loss of the season after a miserable 7-30 loss against the Baltimore Ravens on November 1. The Colts, on the other hand, have continued their impressive win streak after beating the San Francisco 49ers 14-18 on November 1. This means that the Colts and the Saints are now the top two teams, with the best records in the NFL. Can the Saints continue their onslaught to set a new franchise record for the best season start and perhaps even win their first championship title? We’ll have to keep watching to find out.
