No Grand Slam, but BNP Paribas is Must-Watch Event | IXGAMES
It may not qualify as a Grand Slam event but the BNP Paribas Open is the next best thing. These days, after a long winter, tennis fans find themselves ready and waiting as the ATP circuit finally heats up. We saw Stanislas Wawrinka shock the world with a win at the Australian Open in January, but the tennis odds point elsewhere prior to this next high profile affair. The annual tradition at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden has become a highly anticipated one over the years and this time is no different. With all of the sport’s biggest and brightest names in the draw, it essentially serves as an unofficial fifth Grand Slam and a beloved intermediary between the Australian Open and the rest of the peak tennis season. The sportsbook favors Novak Djokovic with 7/4 odds of winning the BNP Paribas Open, but Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Roger Federer, too, all sit within the top four. Wawrinka, fresh off of becoming the first non-Big Four player to win a Grand Slam event since 2009 and only the second since 2005, has 12/1 odds on those same tennis futures.
