North American Gambling Big Business | IXGAMES

A report released this week shows that gaming revenue for North America for last year grew by over eight percent to $92.68 billion. State lotteries, which had been the dominant gambling option for North Americans until casinos starting popping up all over the country, accounted for 24 percent of gaming revenues. Tribal gaming came in third in the numbers with only 22 percent of the revenue coming from this area. Race and Sports gambling and charitable gaming both saw a decline in revenue last year according to the Almanac, which is to be expected with the expansion of casino gambling. The tribal casinos, did, however, show the largest growth as the revenues increased 7.31 percent last year, while lotteries grew 4.91 percent, and card room and casino gaming grew by 5.56 percent. The numbers should only increase over the next few years as casinos are becoming much more accessible as people do not have to travel very far from their homes to play casino games as they have had to in the past.
