Pirates Beat MLB Odds Lead NL Central At All-Star Break

The Pittsburgh Penguins are out in front of the NL Central Division at the All-Star Break for the first time since 1997, but have they truly turned the corner on the MLB odds? According to Bovada, they hold just 30/1 odds of winning the World Series. With franchise star Andrew McCutchen playing as dominantly as ever, the Pirates have thrived in the wide open division. Although just two wins separate first-place PIttsburgh from third-place St. Louis, no single club has had an overwhelming advantage. Can McCutchen add to his team-leading 18 home runs with 60 runs batted in when the squad opens up the second half of their series on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers? Although traditional MLB betting sense may point to the Pirates as underdogs, it will be interesting to see how they respond as the team to beat (they’re new at this, okay?) The Brewers, despite sitting back of the top three NL Central contenders with a sub-.500 record, hold 60/1 odds of winning the World Series. Weigh in on the second half of the season today
