Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 12 | IXGAMES

September 12 marks the much-awaited match between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks, as part of the week 1 games of the NFL 2010 regular season.  It is expected to be a close battle on field, as both teams present a new roster of players fresh from preseason draft picks and a series of reshuffling.  Let’s take a look at the brewing game plans of both teams for the season opener. Seattle Seahawks Odds and Details Just days before the season opener, the Seattle Seahawks had a roster shakeup as veteran players were replaced by new team members.  The 53-man roster now consists of up and coming players who will surely give the team play a new twist.  With this new lineup, the coaching staff headed by Pete Carroll must be working overtime to get new players all prepped up. Among the Seahawks to leave before the regular season is top receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who will now play for the Baltimore Ravens.  The loss of a key player like Houshmandzadeh can affect the established team play of the Seahawks.  But GM John Schneider seems optimistic with their game plan, saying that this will pave the way for other receivers like Deon Butler, Golden Tate, and Ben Obomany to shine, especially with Mike Williams, who used to be a first-round pick.  Jordan Babineaux (versatile safety), Mansfield Wrotto (offensive lineman), Owen Schmitt (starting fullback), and J.P. Losman (no, 3 quarterback) are no longer included in the regular season roster after the trade. Aside from the reshuffling of players, the Seahawks also has a new offensive line coach, Pat Ruel, replacing the now retired Alex Gibbs.  Though there are new faces in the team, the Seahawks also kept some of their veteran players like running back Julius Jones, who were earlier reported to be leaving the team, and Jordan Babineaux.  Justin Forsett, however, will be on the starting lineup, instead of Jones, who’s known to be leading rusher for the team. Among the new recruits are Stacy Andrews and Evan Dietrich-Smith (offensive linemen), Raheem Brock and Junior Siavii (defensive linemen), Mike Ness (cornerback), and Michael Robinson (fullback/special teams standout).  The new recruits are mostly support players, not front line starters, according to Coach Carroll. Whether the reshuffling of players is part of the master game plan or not, the Seahawks game will surely be affected with left tackle Russell Okung out of the lineup because of an injury. Moneyline and Pointspread Based on the BetUS sportsbook betting odds, the Seattle Seahawks got a moneyline of +140 with a pointspread of +3 -115. San Francisco 49ers Odds and Details The San Francisco 49ers seems to be worried about their key player Patrick Willis.  Falling into an injury, the 49ers will greatly be affected without Willis in their lineup.  As part of their game plan, they’re counting on Ahmad Brooks to sub for Willis.  Brooks has been an outside linebacker for the team for the past seasons.  The only problem is that Brooks is still nursing a lacerated kidney.  As to when Brooks can play sub for Willis, nobody knows fo sure. It is obvious that the team’s game plan is to make sure that Willis won’t get hurt, and by the time he needs backup, the injured Brooks will be there.  Head coach Mike Singletary is hoping that this won’t be too soon. Because of his condition, Brooks has missed practice.  Brooks is known to be a good outside linebacker with career-high records.  He’s supposed to be part of the starting lineup until the accident. It seems unfortunate that Brooks will probably be playing in Game 2 in a match against the Saints.  The only backup left is inside linebacker Navorro Bowman, who’s a rookie.  With all these, perhaps the main trouble with the 49ers is that they don’t fare well when it comes to depth. Moneyline and Pointspread Based on BetUS sportsbook odds, the San Francisco 49ers has a -3 -105 pointspread and -160 moneyline.
