One of the biggest net-based poker casinos, PokerStars.net has released its updated list for Pro Canada Team. The recent additions were Anh Van Nguyen, Marcello Del Grosso, Patrick Pezzin, and Greg DeBora. These four poker pros will join original Team Canada Pros Darus Suharto and Daniel Negreanu. The four additional players competed at PokerStars.net’s North American Poker Tour held at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun last April 6 to April 13. The High Roller Bounty Shoot-out’s final table was made up of players who had acquired the Canadians’ bounties, and finished the tourney. Van Nguyen was finally defeated by the eventual champ, Jason Mercier during level 2. Also during the second level, Shawn Buchanan’s 1st bounty was Del Grosso, who was on his way to the final table. At the fourth level, two finalists (Luiz Vasquez and Matt Glantz) sent their opponents packing. Matt Glantz defeated Pezzin while Luis Vasquez triumphed over DeBora. Nguyen is now currently based in Mississauga, Ontario. He has been playing poker for more than a decade. He has been a professional poker player for a total of six years. Nguyen first worked as a card dealer before deciding to become a poker player. Nguyen is also known for his impressive tourney records, including deep runs in last year’s (2009) WSOP main event. He also made his mark at the 2009 Spring Championship of Online Poker main event. In 2007, at the Five Diamond in Bellagio, Nguyen also won in a side event. In 2004, he also impressed fans and fellow players during the World Championship of Online Poker main event. To date, his total earnings has reached $676,720. Marcello Del Grosso Born in Woodbridge, Ontario, Marcello Del Grosso has Italian parents. He moved to Canada during the sixties. Before becoming a pro poker player in 2006, Marcello worked in the field of construction and has owned a call centre for years. As a pro player, Marcello has travelled around the globe, competing with a lot of well-known players. His best achievement was during the 2005 and 2006 WSOP main events. As of today, he has earned almost $400,000 from poker tourneys. Patrick Pezzin Before Pezzin begun playing poker in 1994 and started playing professionally a year later, he was actually a general manager of a restaurant in Toronto. Prior to playing at online poker tourneys, Pezzin was a player at various games in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. To date, he was able to earn almost $700,000 from his live poker tournaments. Greg DeBora DeBora started playing poker at the tender age of 19. After roughly six months, he decided to play poker full-time. DeBora currently plays poker at online casinos and at the Los Angeles’ Commerce Casino.
