Thursday Night Bout Pits Seattle Against Niners | IXGAMES

The San Francisco 49ers are the team to beat on the NFL moneyline, but don’t tell their Week 7 opponents that. With victories over the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots already, the 4-2 Seattle Seahawks would be happy to knock off yet another Super Bowl contender. Through the first third of the 2012 regular season, the upstart Seahawks sit tied atop the NFC West division. According to Bovada’s NFL oddsmakers, though, success isn’t so simple. Despite the strong showing thus far, Seattle has just 50/1 odds of winning the Super Bowl. In contrast, the more popular 49ers lead the league with the highest such NFL odds, even after their most recent performance; a dismal 26-3 loss to the New York Giants. If Jim Harbaugh and company are to live up to their league-leading 11/2 Super Bowl futures, they’ll have to bounce back fast. Expect a nailbiter this week, as all but one of Seattle’s contests this season have been decided by less than a touchdown, and a grinder at that, not only does the tilt pit two clubs neck and neck in the standings against each other, but two Top 5 defensive clubs as well. Whether it’s the appeal of the underdog that gets you sampling the Week 7 moneyline, or the opportunity to watch San Francisco’s redemption, sit back and enjoy the show.
