Virginia Seeks Redemption Versus Louisville | IXGAMES

The Virginia Cavaliers (20-1 SU, 13-6 ATS) have lost their undefeated status after dropping a 69-63 decision to Duke (+5.5 away) last week. But the Cavs are still in first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference as we go to press, and this Saturday, they’ll try to fortify their position when the Louisville Cardinals (19-3 SU, 8-12 ATS) visit the John Paul Jones Arena. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN. Only one game separates Virginia and Louisville in the ACC standings, but as you can tell by their ATS records, the “true” gap between the two teams is bigger than it may appear. Ken Pomeroy’s advanced stats have the Cavaliers ranked No. 2 overall (No. 6 offense, No. 3 defense) in Division I, while the Cardinals are ranked No. 10 (No. 46 offense, No. 6 defense). The Cavs have already bounced back from that Duke loss with Monday’s impressive 75-64 win over the North Carolina Tar Heels (+1 at home). This is the same Tar Heels team that beat the Cards in January, and nearly beat them again last week before falling 78-68 in overtime as a 5-point road underdog.
