Yankees Scored Victory Against Twins | IXGAMES

The Yankees scored a victory against the Twins on a recent game, wrapping up the three-game American League Division Series. The favorable outcome for the Yankees catapults the team into the American League Championship Series where they will go against a best of seven set against the Los Angeles Angels. This is a good reason for the Yankees to celebrate and anticipate their upcoming games. The Yankees’ dedication in winning the game and landing  a spot in the World Series. Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada both hit seventh-inning home runs, ruining Carl Pavalo’s play. Add to that, Andy Pettitte showcased another stellar performance, catapulting the Yankees into a 4-1 victory. It has been five years since the Yankees were able to get past the challenges of first-rounds. With the win, the team is once again participating in the American League Championship Series. Because of the team’s dedication to win a World Series, the Yankees definitely took a step forward. The Yankees are also anticipating a nasty series, battling against the Angels. However, they are definitely looking forward to this exciting challenge. Former teammates Pettitte and Pavano initiated a pitching battle, ending to a first-round playoff in favor of the Yankees. The Yankees’ Pettitte was “trying to match zeros” with Pavano, as the team was able to win the game against the Twins during 2003 and 2004. It seems that the Twins made serious mistakes during the game, citing Nick Punto’s wasted leadoff double during the eight. Punto miscalculated, failing to see that Denard Span’s single actually didn’t get past shortstop Derek Jeter. Span was thrown out while trying to move back to third base. Although the Twins played well during the regular season, their power surge went slack as the AL East champion Yankees were able to hit six homers. Pavano’s play ruined by Rodriguez and Posada However, Pavano played a good game against the team that wanted him out after participating in four unremarkable seasons. During the game, Pavano completed seven innings with no walks and nine season-high strikeouts. However, his play was ruined by opposite field homers Rodriguez and Posada. Supposedly, the last professional game played in this dome was wherein the Twins wiped out Detroit in front of another packed stadium. Pavano’s strikeouts, counting nine in all, warrants a Twins record for the postseason game. Game 1 of the American League Championship Series is against the Angels, who had wiped out the Red Sox earlier in the afternoon. With the Yankees’ recent victory, their fans are also surely celebrating, anticipating the next game wherein Yankees can again show off their baseball-playing skills and strategies. This Yankees victory is proof that the team is slowly overcoming their disappointing five-season performance.
