FIRST ASIAN POKER TOUR EVENT A BIG SUCCESS

The first ever major poker tournament in Asia, the Betfair Asian Poker Tour event in Singapore played last week to a packed house. The $5,000 buy in poker tournament was reportedly sold out in advance, as around 370 players saddled up for the No Limit event. Top poker players on hand included Gus Hansen, Mel Judah, and Liz Lieu. The winner was also a top player – Australian ‘Tony G” Guoga. Tony outlasted the field, and won the top prize of $451,000 – and immediately donated half of his winnings to charity. Guoga also left the poker tournament trophy with local player (and tournament runner up) Josh Ang, so the trophy would ‘stay in Singapore’.
