Johnny Chan Poker Classic Winner

The final table at the Johnny Chan Poker Classic didnt disappoint. The two remaining poker players, Joe Corbett and Henry Tran with approximately $3 million and $5 million respectively, came back from the dinner break and before they got back to playing, tournament host Johnny Chan asked Joe Corbett who would win. “Henry said he would let me win since hes already famous.” said Corbet To the same question Tran responded, “I will show him the awe and shock of this game.” Despite the awkward phrasing, it seemed that Tran was pretty serious. Far different from his extremely tight play previous to the break Tran came out aggressively betting and winning pots and for the first time in probably hours Tran even went all-in. In a complete turn-around from the way things were going before hand where Joe was dominating play despite his smaller stack Tran started controlling the table. After several hands of raising and buying pots Tran went all-in again and this time Joe called. Joe showed K/6os and Henry K/8os. The flop: 5D/4H/2H, the Turn: 9H and the River: JD And there we have it, Henry Tran won the first annual Johnny Chan Poker Classic earing himself $325,000. Joe Corbett will walk away with $200,000 for second place. Be sure to check out the 5th Street section of Bodog Nation later this week for a full account of the Johnn Chan Poker Classic.
