William Delahunt supports gambling
U.S. Rep. William Delahunt, D-Quincy, is the latest federal lawmaker to weigh in on whether Las Vegas-style casinos should be allowed in Massachusetts. Delahunt, who said he hasn’t met with Gov. Deval Patrick on his plan to allow three casinos in the state, is almost alone among the state’s congressional delegation to take a position on casinos in the state. Barney Frank, a Newton Democrat, and James McGovern, a Worcester Democrat, say casinos can provide needed revenues to pay for state services. *I’m very much in favor of allowing adults to do what they want with their own money,* Frank said.
