Taiwan Gambling Industry News
President Ma Ying-jeou – has set up a panel for the gambling industry, undertaking the task of collecting and studying related information, so as to speed up the enactment of the legislation for the development of the gambling industry in Taiwan. The panel will contribute to the formation of a solid government policy for the industry, thereby overcoming the differences among legislators over the issue, caused by the entanglement over the enormous business opportunities and the moral issue, which blocked the passage of the legislation in the past, forcing prospective gambling-industry investors to switch to Macao and Singapore. (The representatives of many leading gambling firms will attend the *forum on Taiwan`s gambling industry* next March, sponsored by the office of the Nevada state in Taiwan, when they will take the opportunity to probe the government`s policy stance again). 
The official stressed that there need a complete management system for the industry, since it is a very complicated and difficult industry.
