Gambling Bill Picks Up Fiftieth Co-Sponsor
Barney Frank currently has Fiftieth Co-Sponsor in his fight against the UIGEA. If HR2267 is passed it has the potential to generate billions of dollars in revenue for both state and federal governments. (Barney Frank’s negotiations between the United States and the European Union online gambling is a well known issue for many in the legislative branch of the government). Representative Mike Thompson from California is the latest to join the group of supporters. it appears that August will bring even more support for his effort to change online gambling laws in the US. Frank has the political numbers in his favor, with the Democrats holding the majority in both the House and the Senate. Frank is also receiving a lot of support from Republicans that are trying to change the face of their party. An analysis shows that collecting taxes on regulated Internet gambling would allow the U.S. to capture much-needed revenue in an amount ranging from $48.6 billion (excluding online sports gambling) to $62.7 billion (including online sports gambling) over the next decade. And the money is needed!! Regards ixgames
