High-Scoring Athletics Climb World Series Futures

Believe it or not, the Oakland Athletics are the most prolific team in baseball. If we’re not careful, it won’t be long before they start winning games, turning heads and improving their otherwise uninspiring and forgettable MLB odds. Oh wait, we’re too late. Bet on Major League Baseball With no disrespect to the Billy Bean-helmed franchise, the A’s haven’t exactly been must-watch TV lately. That’s not to say that they haven’t fielded successful ball clubs – they’ve averaged 83 wins a year over the past three years, including 94 and a playoff berth in 2012, to say nothing of their outright dominance last decade. They’ve just never been the sexy World Series betting option. These days, halfway through the first month of the 2013 campaign, things may be changing. Not only has Oakland erupted in the run column, they have 8/1 MLB futures to show for their efforts. They’ve been going yard at an American League-leading rate, filling the stat sheet in virtually any respect and all-in-all gliding along at the top of the AL West division. This weekend, Oakland will get the opportunity to strut their stuff against Evan Longoria and the Tampa Bay Rays. Seeing as both seem poised to factor into the playoff picture come fall, it’s an early test of mettle. Is this the year we stop writing off the A’s?
