Americas Cardroom Announces Winners of Facebook Promotion

(Press Release) San Jose, Costa Rica – November 27, 2013 – The marketing office at Americas Cardroom might have some big competition. The online poker room today announced the 18 winners of a special Facebook promotion. Americas Cardroom ran a Facebook promotion to help name its new SnG points race. The 18 players who came up with the most creative names and garnered the highest number of likes have earned a spot in a freeroll for $5,000. “We’re thrilled with the number of poker players who submitted names for our new promo and we can’t wait to see how their creativity translates to the tables when 18 of them sit down to play in an exclusive $5,000 freeroll,” stated Michael Harris, spokesperson for Americas Cardroom. “We’ll be launching the new points race soon and announcing the new name, so stay tuned.” The 18 players to win seats in the private online poker tournament for $5,000 are: Samantha Becker, Eric Phillips, Barb Goldn, Eugene Jerome Dupuis, Wylfyr Freddie Kuchi, Dave Joy, William Whitcomb, Vasile Chifu, Steve Cooper, Kenny Horrell, Joshua Giaramita, JJ Erickson, Dale Wipf, Gustavo Llermaly, Tom Poloncarz Jr, Gregory Vetas, Rumen Ganev, Nicoleta Laura Dumitru. The new points race will be similar to The Beast, Americas Cardroom's leaderboard competition for cash game players that pays out six-figure prize pools every month. With The Beast, anyone who sits down at a cash table marked Jackpot automatically becomes part of The Beast competition by earning points through participation in a raked hand. The new points race, designed for Sit & Go players, will use the same tournament fee to feed the jackpot. For example, in a $10+1 Sit 'n Go or On-Demand tournament, $0.75 of the $1 fee will go to the house and $0.25 will go to the jackpot. Players earn points by participating, and at the end of each month Americas Cardroom will award players who rank on the leaderboard with cash and tournament seats. Here's the best part: the cash leaderboard gets fuelled at absolutely no extra cost to the player. Each time a player sits down at a Sit & Go, he pays his normal fee — that's all. The 18 players won a seat in the tournament by suggesting a name on Facebook and garnering the highest number of likes. To watch the tournament live on December 1st at 6:00pm ET., open the Americas Cardroom software.
