It’s been hard to gauge what the North Carolina Tar Heels are capable of this season thanks to their largely inconsistent play since November. Almost simultaneously a team capable of knocking off a top-ranked opponent and collapsing against a mid-major opponent, they’ve added an element of unpredictability to the college basketball moneyline.
This Friday, the No. 19 squad will try their luck against a vaunted ACC rival. Currently No. 2 in the AP polls, the Syracuse Orange will serve as a valuable measuring device for UNC fans curious to see what exactly their squad is capable of.
Having bullied their way through a not-so-imposing schedule so far, Syracuse will use the early January contest against a conference rival to hopefully make a statement. The Orange have just 12/1 odds of winning March Madness
despite the fact that only Arizona ranks higher than them at this point in the season.
