(Press Release) San Jose, Costa Rica – January 6, 2015 – After a few bumps in the road during December's OSS IV, Americas Cardroom is declaring a rematch. The US-facing online poker site today announced that it's bringing back its Online Super Series IV poker tournament series this February
. Dubbed OSS IV Rematch, the online tournament series features $2 million in guarantees, spread out over 63 separate events, and includes a $1 million guaranteed Main Event February 22nd.
"After three wildly successful Online Super Series that paid out millions of dollars, we were disappointed to see OSS IV interrupted the way it was," stated Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. "So we're declaring a rematch and adding an additional $250,000 to the prize pool."
While the original OSS IV was held in early December, a number of tournaments were cancelled due to international connection issues. Harris notes that the connection issues weren't limited to just Americas Cardroom. A number of other poker networks experienced connectivity problems in December. Harris notes that those issues have been resolved.
OSS IV Rematch takes place from February 13th through 22nd. Over the course of 10 days, Americas Cardroom is spreading $2 million in guarantees across dozens of separate online poker tournaments. Buy-ins for the online events range from just $0.27 to $540.
The Online Super Series culminates with February 22nd's Winning Millions tournament, a $1 million guaranteed event where first place earns $200,000. Also scheduled for that day is a $50,000 guaranteed Warm Up event and a $300,000 guaranteed Second Chance.
OSS IV Rematch also offers a Championship Leaderboard. Poker players will earn points for each event played and rank on the leaderboard. The first place winner will earn $500 in extra cash. The second and third ranked player will earn $300 and $200 respectively.
