No. 2 LSU at No. 4 Alabama

Week 10 of the college football season is chock-full of important games, but none more important than Saturday’s SEC showdown (8:00 PM ET, CBS) between the No. 2 LSU Tigers and the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama is a 6-point home favorite (–115) at press time. The Tigers go into this matchup undefeated at 7-0 SU and 4-3 ATS, but while the AP poll has them two spots ahead of the Crimson Tide (7-1 SU, 3-5 ATS), the advanced stats suggest that Alabama is the better team, both on offense and defense. LSU might also be missing cornerback Tre’Davious White on Saturday; White hurt his knee two weeks ago and was said to be “gimpy” during Wednesday’s practice. Both teams have had the bye week to prepare for Saturday’s contest, but Alabama will have home-field advantage at noisy Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, and the Tigers haven’t played on the road since Week 4, when they failed to cover in a 34-24 victory over the Syracuse Orange (+24). The Tide have also allowed just 2.6 yards per carry this year on the ground, which could spell trouble for LSU’s Heisman favorite, running back Leonard Fournette (–225).
